ヨットKING BEEの航海: 天草本渡で２泊

７月２６日６：００出島出港、本渡を目指す。長崎を出て左の半島の先辺りにある端島、通称軍艦島の近くを通る。ここは石炭を掘っていた小さな島で、アパートなどの建物が覆っており、遠くから見ると軍艦のように見える。
１５時本渡に到着したが、今日は花火大会なので入港お断りとのこと、１Ｍほど北の北浜にある天草ヨットクラブの泊地へ向かったところ、あいにく干潮で、入り口近くで砂地に捕まり止る。警笛を数回鳴らしたら、クラブ員の方がテンダーで出てきて下さる。、ひっぱてもらい、自分のエンジンも回転を上げて無事脱出、１時間アンカリングしていると、またテンダーで着てくださり、誘導について行って無事に係留できました。概ね自作に近いポンツーンに１８艇係留。歩いて２０分くらいのお風呂へ。艇内で夕食後、手製のクラブハウスへ招かれて天草ヨットクラブの皆さんと花火見物させていただきました。一万発でなかなかの見ごたえでした。

７月２７日は観光日。レンタカーで教会、富岡城跡など訪問。夕食は市内のやまもと屋でおいしい刺身など海鮮料理を食べました。この日の午前中は天草トライアスロンが開催され、ドライブは迂回、逆周りコース選択。４時ころからＡＹＣの坪田さんに、砂の浅瀬を如何に避けて出港するかを丁寧に教えていただきました。通れるところは狭くなかなか難しい。橋を二つくぐって狭い水路を南下する近道があるが、桁下１６ｍくらいで厳しく、水路は狭いのであきらめ、もと来たように一旦北上して西へ曲がってから、甑島へ行くことに決心。

７月２８日朝干満中間の６：３０出港、無事に深いところへ出れて、上甑島里港目指して航海中。天草の北側を西進中、一時逆潮が４．５－５ｋｔにもなり、エンジンを２８００ｒｐｍに上げ対水８ｋｔにしても３－３．５ｋｔのところもありましたが、今はそこも脱出、弱い東の風、うす曇の中、順調に走ってます。１８時ころ里港に到着予定。
１０時前に小ぶりのカツオがトローリングに掛かりました。今日はたたきが食べられる！

　We left Dejima ,Nagasaki, at 6:00 on July 26 and sailed to Hondo, Amakusa Island.
A couple of hours after departure, we passed by the "Battleship Island, Hashima" which once prospered as coal mine. Now the whole island is covered with abandoned buildings.
　 When we arrived at Hondo Port, they told us not to enter because of the fire works show in the evening. So, we went to Amakusa Yacht Club a couple of M north, where King Bee was caught by shallow sand bottom just near the entrance. I switched on the horn several times , Fortunately the club members came out by a boat with outboard engine. They pulled to right direction , King Bee turned the engine at high rpm, we could get out of the shallow finally, and anchored ,weighted till higher tide for an hour.

　On July 27 we went sightseeing by rent-a‐car.
On July 28, at 6:30 when the tide came to higher than middle ,we left Amakusa Yacht Club and now sailing to Sato Port near the northern tip of Kami- Koshiki jima Island.
We caught a small bonito already. Looking forward to today's dinner.
