ヨットKING BEEの航海: 甑島訪問

７月２８日１６時上甑島里港に入港。入って左の浮き桟橋は片方に観光船が、反対側はロープがたくさんつないでありあきらめ。岸壁から手を振っている人が二人、近づくとなんと昨年の瀬戸内海ラリーに参加していたＣｏｌｉｎさんとＭａｒｉｏｎさんでした。彼らのアバンギャルト号は入って右の船溜まりに係留中だったのでその隣に横付け。近くのスーパー銭湯へ行った後、両艇ともシイラを釣っていたので、それぞれのやり方で料理し持ち寄ってアバンギャルトで一緒に夕食。６０フィートもある船でコクピットも広かった。全木造船とのこと、白くピカピカなのでそうと聞くまでわからない。
７月２９日北へ航海するコリンさんらと分かれて下甑島手打港目指して里を１０：２０に出港。中甑島と下甑島の間のいむた瀬戸を通り、奇岩、断崖が並ぶ綺麗な西海岸を南下、１３：４０に手打到着。近くの海岸で銛を持って人泳ぎし、魚一匹と貝（しったか）５－６個ゲット。
７月３０日、台風が近づきつつあるので８月５日には五ヶ所に戻ることにし、５：４０出港、山川港を目指して機帆走で急いでます。佐藤さんの友人が指宿のﾎﾃﾙの副社長だそうで、今晩はそのﾎﾃﾙで泊まり、明日は観光の予定。

At around 16:00, July 28, we arrived at Sato port of Kami-Koshiki -Jima, where we found two persons waving hands to us. Supprisingly, they were Colin and Marion-san, who participated in Setouti Yacht Rally last year and had sailed on their Avant Gyart to Japan this year. We tied King Bee next to her. Both had fished Mahi-mahi that day. We ate them at dinner on Avant Gyart after cooking in New Zealand way and Japanese way on each boat.
At 10:20 July29, King Bee left Sato departing Avant Gyart who is planning toward Nagasaki. We sailed along the beautiful west coast of Shimo-Koshiki-Jima, and arrived at Teuchi port near the southern tip of the iasland.
At 5:40 July 30, we left Teuchi and motor-sailing toward Yamakawa port of Kagoshima Pref. where we will stay at hotel of which Sato-san's friend is the vice president. Tomorrow will be the sightseeing day. We decided to shorten the cruising and be back at Gokasho-Bay, King Bee's home port by Aug.5 because of the approaching typhoon.
