佐渡島観光

　　７月２０日朝、以前リバティー号で佐渡島に寄港された橋本さん（ぽれーる号応援団会長）から連絡があった、と言うことで、小木ヨットクラブ会長の榎谷さんがお見えになり、何か困ったことはないか、と親切にお尋ねくださったので、観光したいがレンタカーは出払っていて、バスは不便で困っている、と話したところ、ご親切に、自分の車を使え、と言ってくださいました。おかげさまで、２0日午前で帰る山崎勝也さん、２１日に帰る乾さんも効率よく観光ができました。
　　In early morning of July 20, president of Ogi Yacht Club visited King Bee and kindly asked us if we are in any inconvenience. So, I said bus timetable is very inconvenient and all the rent-a-cars are occupied. He kindly suggested using his car. Therefore , we could enjoy sightseeing very efficiently.

最初に近くの蓮華峰寺へ。辻藤左エ門が住職とともに奉行に反抗し戦ったことで有名。
At first we visited a big temple(Rengebuji) near Ogi. Most of the buildings were old, with the oldest one made in1348.
I guess this big old temple is one of the indications of the prosperity of this island due to its large gold production.

Newly built old ship, 23.5m long and could carry 500koku
of rice(75metric tons ). Bigger ones of like 1300 koku were built but the maximum size was limmited by Tokugawa Shogun to avoid peoples's travel to abroad. Only single masted boats were allowed.

Old houses in Shukunegi  which once prospered as shipping out port of gold.

We visited the old Sado gold mine.

Manually operated drainage pumps with spirals inside.

Hard works in the tunnels are shown by moving figures.

This mountain became like split by digging gold from the top.
