10月３０日はＫａｐａ島の西に停泊。高岡さんは一人で２時間あまり島内散策、残り３人はきれいな砂浜でシュノーケリングしました。珊瑚も沢山あり色彩豊富な熱帯魚がきれいでした。高岡さんは或る家を覗いていたら入れといわれカバとパイナップルをご馳走になったそう。
１０月３１日１１月１日はＮｕａｐａｐｕ島西側にアンカリングしました。上陸して歩くとカバを買うので５ドル欲しいとか、シャックルが欲しい、電池が欲しいなどと交換品の果物など何も持たずに要求だけするので、ちょっと首をかしげました。子供には鉛筆、飴などあげて喜ばれましたが大人には無し。
１１月２日５時５０分抜錨しＨａａｐａｉグループのＬｉｆｕｋａ島Ｐａｎｇａｉに夕方５時に到着、沖にアンカリングしました。このあたりの島々は平らで低く、海は一見真っ平らですが暗礁だらけで神経を使いました。ＧＰＳプロッターも２００ｍくらいずれてるみたいで目視が重要です。
On Oct30 we anchored in the west of Kapa Is.. Takaoka-san went walking and the rest three enjoyed snorkeling. In a village he was invited into a house and had a chance to drink Kava and eat pineapple.
On Oct31 and Nov.1 we stayed in the west of Nuapupa Is. Peoples asked "Give me 5 dollars to buy Kava" "Give me a shackle" "Give me batteries" without having fruits or something for exchange. So, we felt a bit embarrassed. We gave candies and pencils to children.
On Nov.2, we left Nuapapu at 5:50AM and arrived at Pangai at 5PM. Islands in Haapai are flat and low, and the sea are full of hidden shallow spots.. GPS plotter seems to have 200m shifts. So, looking out is important.
